The Fairy Tale - 27 days

Welcome to the blog of Bonnie and Justin Mattix!

Justin and Bonnie had quite the whirlwind relationship. But before we get too far into that, let's start at the beginning.

Justin was born in Mesa, Arizona on September 25, 1975 and grew up in Tucson and Utah. He served his mission Ecuador from 1999 to 2001. He married Jill in 2002, and together they had Skyler, born July 27, 2003 and Mikaela, born November 15, 2004. Jill and Justin divorced 2008 with joint custody  of the children.

Bonnie was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 3, 1987 and grew up in Sandy, Utah. She had two failed attempts at marriages, and then had her son, Carsten, on April 9, 2010. She spent the last 2 years living in a self sufficiency program called LifeStart Village, and worked at The Living Planet Aquarium to support her tiny son and herself. Bonnie had had her fair share of unhealthy relationships, and her mother begged her to set up an account on an LDS singles site. After months of fighting her mother on it, she relented on the last day of September, 2011. Hours after setting up her LDSplanet account, she received an email from Justin. He told her he was a single dad of two kids, and he was living in Tucson, Arizona. After a couple of hours, they agreed to Skype one another, and really hit it off.  The next day, they spent about 3 hours on the phone as Bonnie got ready for work, and since it was General Conference, they didn't get to talk a whole lot that day. They had exchanged pictures, and were texting off and on throughout the day, and when it came tie for the Priesthood session, they were pretty enamored with one another. Justin had attended the Priesthood session with his home teachers, and while they were all at dinner afterwords, he showed them Bonnie's picture and told them, "This is MY girl." (Bonnie had no idea that she was his girl at that time.) After a few more days of nonstop talking/skyping/texting, they began to speak a little more seriously. Justin had arranged to go to Utah over Halloween weekend to meet Bonnie and take her son trick-or-treating and get to know her. The tickets were paid for and the trip was set. As they talked more and more, they both got the distinct impression that they were meant to be together. Justin brought up the possibility of getting married, and without hesitation, Bonnie agreed. They originally planned on getting married on December 17, 2011, but figured since Justin was coming to visit the last weekend of October anyway, why wait?

Bonnie and Justin met for the first time face to face on October 27, 2011 and were married on October 28, 2011. Bonnie moved to Tucson, Arizona, where they are happily living with their 3 children.

27 days was all it took for a Happily Ever After to begin. Love at first sight? You better believe it!
